Supervisor, Central Services

Supervises and directs the activities of Central Services, including supply distribution, storage and inventory, decontamination and sterile processing of instrumentation, and preparation and distribution of case carts to the operating rooms at the ambulatory surgery center (ASC). Develops and implements standard operating procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards. Supervises a team of central services staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

Responsibilities

Supervises and directs the activities of Central Services, including supply distribution, storage and inventory, decontamination and sterile processing of instrumentation, and preparation and distribution of case carts to the operating rooms at the ambulatory surgery center (ASC); Develops and implements standard operating procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards; Supervises a team of central services staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations; Investigates complaints, issues credits and returns, verifies reports, coordinates delivery of special requests, and maintains inventory; Develops and maintains inventory of supplies, equipment and instrumentation, and formulates policies and procedures for decontamination and sterile processing; Assists in the development, interpretation and administration of departmental policies and budgets; Maintains records and recommends improvements

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related supervisory experience required; Or equivalent combination of education and experience; Must pass a nationally accredited central service exam for central service technicians; Hold and maintain one of the following credentials within 1-1/2 years required: CRCST - Certified and Registered Central Service Technician; CSPDT - Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech; or a substantially equivalent credential
