Surface Technology Internship in Paints & Coatings team (d/f/m)

In order to support the Engineering Surface Technology team, Airbus Operations GmbH is looking for a student interested in an internship. The intern will join the Surface Technology team in the Materials, Processes, and Test Department, supporting research projects dealing with the development of the latest paint technologies. The position is based in Bremen, Germany. Start: as soon as possible, duration: 3 months.

Responsibilities

Support the overall research and development of a sustainable, next-generation paint system; Research and development of EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) compliant primer and paint systems; Support research on inhibition concepts for paint systems and assess their influence on corrosion protection; Evaluate the technical performance of product proposals by defining test programs, executing testing, and preparing technical reports; Conduct analytical investigations regarding the physical and chemical properties of various coatings

Requirements

Currently enrolled student in the field of Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Paint Engineering, or a related discipline; Strong passion for surface technology, corrosion, paints and coatings, and corrosion inhibition; Exceptional communication and analytical skills; Ability to work effectively within a multi-location, international team; Negotiation-level English

Nice to have

Prior experience in the analytical evaluation and corrosion assessment of organic coatings
