Surgery Cardiothoracic Physician

Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a 13 week locum Surgery Cardiothoracic Physician job in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, paying $320/hr - $325/hr.

Responsibilities

Perform a range of surgeries including appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removals, emergency surgeries, and upper and lower endoscopies, among others; Provide preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care; Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans; Be on-call for emergency surgeries, such as trauma cases or unexpected complications; Provide consultations to patients and other medical professionals regarding surgical options and care plans; Provide patient education about post-operative care and follow-up requirements; Maintain accurate and thorough medical records

Requirements

Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school; Residency training program in surgery accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA); Board certification in surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS); Active and unrestricted medical license in Wisconsin; Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification; At least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting; Expertise in performing a wide variety of general surgeries with minimal supervision; Ability to assess complex medical situations and make sound decisions quickly; Excellent manual dexterity and precision; Effective verbal and written communication skills; Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams
