Surveyor in Training (SIT)

ms consultants is seeking a Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) to join our growing surveying team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting a wide variety of land surveying projects while working in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment. We provide services for transportation, water, architecture, and energy infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Assist with field surveys, including boundary, topographic, and construction staking; Operate survey instruments such as GPS, total stations, and data collectors; Support office staff with data processing, mapping, and preparation of survey deliverables; Conduct research of deeds, plats, and public records for survey projects; Maintain survey equipment and follow established safety procedures; Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field crews

Requirements

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or in progress); Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe; Basic understanding of land surveying principles and practices; Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills; Ability to work effectively in both field and office environments; Strong communication and teamwork skills

Nice to have

Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred; Internship or prior experience in land surveying preferred
