Technologist Assistant Advanced

As an Advanced Technologist Assistant, you will be onsite and able to perform a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient related functions. The Advanced Technologist Assistant is responsible for assisting radiology technologists in providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, exam review, preparation for the visit, patient education, assistance with exams and procedures, and patient transporting.

Responsibilities

Assisting radiology technologists in providing health care services; Patient check-in; Exam review; Preparation for the visit; Patient education; Assistance with exams and procedures; Patient transporting; Overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of patient registration; Greeting visitors/patients; Check-in process; Check-out process; Insurance verification process; Informing patients of costs for care being provided; Answering telephones and relaying messages; Setting up the imaging room; Providing quality customer service; Explaining studies to patients; Positioning patients and ensuring patient comfort and modesty; Preparing patients for exams by assisting with dressing and undressing; Escorting patients to and from exam rooms; May be required to start IVs

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Phlebotomy Certification OR Medical Assisting Certificate; Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures; Must be able to interact compassionately and effectively with people who range from healthy to critically ill; Lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds; Sitting for prolonged periods of time; Frequent standing and walking
