Ultrasound Technologist

At SimonMed, diagnostic quality starts with you. Our Ultrasound Technologists are essential to delivering the advanced outpatient imaging our patients and referring physicians depend on.

Responsibilities

Perform the full spectrum of ultrasound exams—abdominal, pelvic, OB/GYN across all three trimesters, small parts, and vascular studies; Own the quality of every image produced and review own work for diagnostic completeness before it reaches the radiologist; Maintain accurate, complete, real-time documentation in PACS, RIS, and EMR systems; Manage own workflow and keep exam area stocked and clean; Support departmental operations and adapt when exams run long, protocols shift, or a patient requires extra time and care; Explain procedures, confirm clinical history, and ensure patient comfort before exams; Mentor students and new staff during orientation; Participate in quality assurance and continuing education

Requirements

ARDMS certification in Abdomen, OB/GYN, or applicable specialty required — or registry-eligible with a clear path to certification; Completed accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program; Current BLS certification; Valid state licensure current (where required); Proficiency in ultrasound equipment and PACS, RIS, and EMR systems; Strong image optimization and multi-specialty scanning protocol knowledge; Ability to work independently in a high-volume outpatient environment; Strong communication skills with patients, radiologists, and clinical staff; Commitment to QA participation and ongoing professional development; Willingness to mentor students and contribute to a positive clinical culture

Nice to have

1–2 years of clinical ultrasound experience (general, OB/GYN, and/or vascular) preferred
