Africa Talent by Deloitte (Africa Talent) is a separate legal entity based in South Africa and was formed between Deloitte Africa and Deloitte Netherlands in order to meet the growing demand for Talent in Africa and Europe; and to establish a competency centre that can compete with other delivery centres in India and beyond. While incorporated in South Africa, the goal is to recruit and develop Talent throughout Sub Saharan Africa in order to service the diverse needs to enable projects at our clients. Talent employed, will have the full experience of Deloitte, while getting both local and international exposure to a diverse set of clients, working remotely from Africa. Are you passionate about Sustainability and looking for an opportunity to make a real impact? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team at Deloitte. As a Senior Consultant Sustainability with a focus on ESG assurance, you will leverage your sustainability reporting expertise in an assurance role to help clients on their journey towards more mature ESG reporting. It requires you to have a strong command of the ESG reporting regulatory environment and assurance standards, while bringing innovative ideas and solutions to our clients that will truly make an impact on their business and society as a whole.

Responsibilities

Performing non-financial assurance on clients ESG reports,; Preparing the service delivery plan for the client, together with the Partners and Managers,; Identifying the problem areas and risks affecting the client, and supplying concrete advice,; Taking responsibility for the input necessary for internal and external reporting for the client,; Assessing the ESG disclosures and ensuring they comply with all statutory requirements; Auditing complex items in the ESG report and/or sustainability information in the annual report,; Drafting and reviewing sustainability reporting processes and disclosures for integrated reporting and ensuring audit readiness,; Operate as key team member of audit- and advisory assignments; Participating in discussions with clients, identifying ESG risks and opportunities from a business perspective and facilitating discussions with the client’s key stakeholders and supplying concrete advice,; Building strong and trusting relationships with clients,; Create proposals for prospective future clients,; On the job coaching of peers with different skillsets; Applying a solution-based approach to methodologies and ideas in the evolving ESG landscape

Requirements

Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting CA(SA) or ACCA.; 3 years of experience within Audit or similar role; Critical thinking and problem solving mind set,; A passion to learn about the Environmental, Social and Governance Standards; Excellent command of English in word and writing
