AI Portfolio Lead

The Portfolio Lead curates a world-class UK apprenticeship product set focused on AI upskilling. Working as one of two dedicated leads within our AI vertical, you are an AI-literate strategist with a deep understanding of the AI tooling market. Practically, you will own the roadmap and key performance metrics for a set of products, proactively scoping new UK releases to grow bookings and influencing cross-organisational decisions on how to maintain and improve programme retention and quality as we scale.

Responsibilities

Own the development and iteration of AI product offerings by analysing data to improve net new bookings, customer retention and learner retention; Validate assumptions and competitor analysis in partnership with Product Marketing; Horizon scanning on data and tooling trends to identify skills development pain points; Support GTM, Finance and Delivery teams to scope custom data offerings; Support Policy team to respond to apprenticeship policy consultations; Manage learning squad and prioritisation to create compliant apprenticeship curricula; Support partners in Delivery, Admissions and Product to enable readiness; Identify and escalate risks to all levels including C Suite; Establish and lead rigorous feedback loops; Serve as internal and external voice of the data practitioner

Requirements

AI Domain Expertise: sophisticated background in AI upskilling, understanding infrastructure and tools for generative, agentic and beyond; Product or Curriculum Launch Experience: proven experience working with a broad cross functional group of stakeholders to launch learning products and their ongoing improvements; Confident Written and Oral Communication at all levels; Ability to distinguish between signal and noise; Strong vision for applied learning; AI enabled practices: experience building and using AI workflows to automate research, development and reporting tasks

Nice to have

AI Practitioner: significant technical proficiency in AI automation tooling and lived experience designing learning for these tools; Instructional Literacy: experience with cohort-based or online content creation within technical or professional training; Regulatory Knowledge: experience working within regulated structures (e.g., UK Apprenticeship Levy)
