Assistant Manager on Duty

Oversees the quality and success of pool operations including the management of the Deck Supervising staff, Golden Teachers and Swim Instructors, as well as the on-deck staff, maintenance of pool environment and interaction with students and parents/guardians. Maintains expert-level knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum and demonstrates thorough knowledge of GSS management policies and practices.

Responsibilities

Oversees the quality and success of pool operations including management of Deck Supervising staff, Golden Teachers and Swim Instructors; Maintains expert-level knowledge of Goldfish Swim School curriculum; Provides leadership, discipline and constructive feedback to Deck Supervisors, Instructors and Deck Teachers; Conducts periodic evaluations of Deck Supervisors, Instructors and Deck Teachers; Interacts with parents/guardians to discuss student progress; Acts as GSS ambassador to ensure customer satisfaction; Conducts weekly audits of rosters, notes, training logs, checklists and Visual Scheduler; Acts as substitute Front Desk Representative, Deck Supervisor, Instructor or Deck Teacher when necessary; Provides weekly report of audits; Completes written performance reviews; Conducts aquatic-based new hire training; Floats in the water at least 2 shifts a week; Assists with W.A.T.E.R. Safety presentations; Ensures flow of shifts on deck; Fulfills other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Employer

Requirements

Ability to work with children; Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills; Must pass background examinations (included with training); Two or more years as a swim instructor required; Lifeguard, CPR/AED, First Aid certifications and Ellis lifeguarding certifications required

Nice to have

High school diploma or GED preferred; Experience as a youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor and/or teacher preferred; College degree preferred; Optional CPO Certification
