Bakery Sales Associate

Retail bakery sales associate at Weis Markets store 233 in Norristown, PA, responsible for keeping the bakery department stocked, serving customers, taking orders, maintaining product quality and sanitation, and assisting with baked goods production. This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Keeps bakery department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand; Smiles and greets customers, makes suggestions, answers questions about products, and helps resolve customer concerns; Takes customer orders over the phone or in person; Sets up special-order tables, sets bakery cases and builds displays; May write on cakes; Ensures merchandise is fresh, saleable, properly priced and signed; Handles spoiled, damaged or near-expiration product; May assist with production of breads, pastries and other baked goods following production logs and approved recipes; Maintains general sanitation of the department according to cleaning schedules and health and OSHA requirements; May assist with receiving and storing deliveries and baling cardboard (training provided); Assists in minimizing shrink and reports shortages or overages to the manager; Cooperates with co-workers and supervisors; Uses all company-provided personal protective equipment; May assist in other departments

Requirements

Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); No prior experience required
