Behaviour Support Assistant – SEMH School

A specialist SEMH school in West Drayton is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to work with pupils who require additional social, emotional, and behavioural support. Responsibilities

Support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs throughout the school day; Use positive behaviour strategies to promote engagement and emotional regulation; Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and act as a consistent role model; Work alongside teachers and the pastoral team to create a safe and supportive learning environment; Encourage confidence, resilience, and independence both in and out of the classroom.

Requirements

Must have the right to work in the UK or hold a valid work visa; Provide suitable references for pre-employment checks; Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Children’s Workforce (or Children’s & Adults’) Update Service, or be willing to obtain one; Calm, resilient, and confident managing behaviours positively; Able to build meaningful relationships with pupils from a range of backgrounds; Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to succeed; A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach to every day

Nice to have

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour is desirable.
