Camp Coach

We are looking for a camp coach with an athletic or coaching background who ideally has experience in summer camps or coaching kids ages 4 - 9. KidStrong Camp Coach would focus on coaching children on brain, physical, and character development that stems from a designed camp curriculum.

Responsibilities

Camp sizes of up to 20 children, ages ranging from 4 - 9; Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team; Ensure camp both starts and ends on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum; Greet students as well as parents/guardians as they arrive to camp; Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading camp; Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises; Keep an accurate record of attendance at all times; Ensure cleanliness of the center including lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors; Use the KS Coach’s App to record class data and provide records of data for parents; Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack; Complete training through LearnUpon as required; Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by KidStrong Director; Obtain camp-certified status from the HQ Training and Certification team; Supervise, ensure safety, and implement the program for campers while ensuring the well-being of all children

Requirements

Passion for working with children is non-negotiable; Athletic or coaching background; CPR certified; Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills; Self-starter who just gets a job done; Comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding any incidents that take place during camp; Available during camp hours from 9 am to 2:30 pm; Able to work in a physically intensive environment; Able to lift and repeatedly move equipment up to 25 pounds; Comfortable working hands-on with kids to ensure proper technique and safety; Must obtain camp-certified status from the HQ Training and Certification team

Nice to have

Prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age; Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics; Experience in summer camps or coaching kids ages 4 - 9
