Community Resource Specialist

Family Resource Center is looking for a full-time Community Resource Specialist to join our team in our Resource & Referral Department.

Responsibilities

Provide information and services to childcare providers; Understand the needs of childcare providers and research and assess services for them; Assist, interpret and present childcare needs to the community; Interpret and understand DSS licensing regulations; Provide comprehensive screenings and referrals to families served in First 5 San Joaquin (F5SJ) funded programs including Help Me Grow and 2-1-1; Conduct targeted outreach to promote proportionate representation of ethnic groups for the CalWORKs population; Work effectively with schools, public and private agencies, family service agencies and neighborhoods to enhance childcare; Assist with recruitment, training and retention of childcare providers and provide technical assistance to individuals interested in becoming licensed; Participate in professional childcare organizations; Participate in community outreach events to promote FRC services; Conduct trainings, workshops, and orientations; Advocate and promote child development and early learning services; Provide information and support services to parents throughout San Joaquin County; Routinely maintain kiosks in assigned area with information and materials

Requirements

Ability to work as a member of a team; Ability to listen and communicate both written and orally in English; Knowledge of community programs and resources available in San Joaquin County; Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects; Able to analyze statistical information and apply results to assigned area; Good public speaking abilities; Valid driver's license, automobile, and proof of insurance; Two years community work experience; Must pass pre-employment drug test; Attendance is an essential function of this job

Nice to have

AA degree in child development, liberal studies, human development or social services; Ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish; Other languages desirable
