Responsibilities

Prepares estimates from information received such as contract drawings, specifications, and addendums using in-house pricing software, supplemental design and pricing programs and information obtained from vendors; Identifies exclusions, discrepancies, missing information and obtains clarification and qualifies the quotation based on that information; Provides adds, deducts, or alternates as requested to estimates that require special pricing beyond the current capabilities of the pricing software; Ensures the use of the most current pricing information when preparing the estimate; Builds and maintains Builder/Vendor relationships; Communicates with Builders, Sales, Customer Service and Engineering regarding any clarification of scope/design intent that the Estimator was involved in; Manages and prioritizes multiple workflows simultaneously; Continually improves productivity, accuracy and ability; Understand the role in the overall system and be willing to step outside that role; Reports to Estimating Manager; Travel is not typical, however for training purposes it may be requested

Requirements

Good mathematical and analytical skills; Ability to manage and prioritize multiple workflows simultaneously; Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal methods; Ability to review and interpret project specifications; Ability to read and interpret blueprints; Exhibit competency of in-house design programs and procedures; Blue Beam, Top View, or AutoCAD experience preferred; Must be comfortable on the phone with customers and Field Sales
