Cover Supervisor

Elementa is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist SEND and SEMH setting in Dorking, Surrey. The provision supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism, ADHD and trauma-related barriers to learning. The school provides a nurturing and supportive environment focused on helping students develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Responsibilities

Supporting students on a 1:1, 2:1 or small group basis; Assisting the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities; Supporting students’ emotional wellbeing and behaviour regulation; Encouraging positive engagement with learning; Helping maintain a safe, structured and supportive environment; Promoting the school’s high expectations and values; Supporting students with SEND and SEMH needs; Assisting with safeguarding and pastoral support where required

Requirements

Calm, patient and resilient approach; Ability to build positive relationships whilst maintaining clear boundaries and expectations; Completion of full vetting and background checks; Enhanced DBS Disclosure application

Nice to have

Experience in a similar role or previous experience working with children or young people in education, care, youth work or support settings; DBS on the Update Service
