CTE Engineering Teacher, 9-12

The High School CTE Engineering Teacher, 9-12 is a state certified teacher responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. The Career Exploration teacher must provide instruction, support, and guidance; manage the learning process; and focus on students’ individual needs. Teachers monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system and work actively with students and parents to advance each student’s learning and to develop and monitor a plan for post-secondary success via online tools.

Responsibilities

Delivering specific course content in an online environment; Providing instruction, support, and guidance; Managing the learning process; Focusing on students' individual needs; Monitoring student progress through the learning management system; Working actively with students and parents to advance each student's learning and develop a plan for post-secondary success; Takes ownership for student's academic progress and attendance; Prepares students for high stakes standardized tests; Conducts live Synchronous Teaching - minimum of 15 hours per week; Asynchronously supports objectives, including composing/sending emails, planning course objectives, preparing learning plans, and using data to determine student needs; Collaborates with others regarding instruction, resources, interventions and data; Submits grades and required student work; Maintains grade book; Establishes and maintains positive rapport with families; Supports students and learning coaches; Organizes social and educational activities for students and families; Travels to testing sites to proctor state exams

Requirements

Active CTE state teaching certification OR Active high school grade level state teaching certification with CTE Validation; Bachelor's degree; Six (6) months of student teaching experience; Meet requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) in subject area under No Child Left Behind (NCLB); Ability to clear required background check
