Culinary Arts CTE Teacher

Passionate Educators are needed at the Stride K12 partner school, Insight Academy of Arizona (ISAZ). The CRE Teacher is state certified teacher and/or alternatively certified CTE Teacher responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. The CRE Teacher must also provide instruction, support, and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs.

Responsibilities

Delivering specific course content in an online environment; Providing instruction, support, and guidance; Managing the learning process and focusing on students' individual needs; Monitoring student progress through K12's learning management system; Working actively with students and parents to advance learning and develop a plan for post-secondary success; Supporting students/parents with placement, online school setup, curriculum and instructional issues; Maintaining knowledge of State, Common Core and Industry Specific learning standards; Developing instructional tools and strategies; Contacting students regularly via email or phone; Attending weekly teacher conference calls and staff meetings; Developing and maintaining student academic progress and formal reports; Organizing orientation, training, social, and educational activities; Traveling to assigned geographic areas for school activities; Preparing students for state assessments and administering assessments

Requirements

Arizona Standard Career and Technical Education Family Consumer Sciences, or Standard Specialized Career and Technical Education Family and Consumer Sciences; Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card; Arizona Residency Required; Bachelor's degree; Three (3) years of successful teacher experience within the virtual setting OR equivalent combination of education and experience; Ability to clear required background check(s); Shared view of the virtual academy's mission; Strong content and subject-matter knowledge; Ability to support and guide adults as well as students; Knowledgeable in the application of databases utilized by K12; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Organization and time-management skills; Microsoft Office 365; Web proficiency; Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school

Nice to have

Experience as an online learner; Experience with project based learning; Experience using a student information system and/or other type of database; Ability to support adults with basic computer set-up and navigation
