The Head of Department - Psychology provides academic leadership for the psychology academic team and is responsible for the academic quality, governance, and continuous improvement of the Bachelor of Psychology. Help establish and shape a new accredited program from the ground up!

Responsibilities

Lead and improve Bachelor of Psychology programs to ensure compliance with APAC, HESF, and industry standards.; Provide academic leadership to support high-quality teaching, assessment, and student outcomes.; Oversee accreditation, curriculum review, quality assurance, and continuous improvement processes.; Embed ethical, evidence-based, culturally responsive, and inclusive practices within psychology education.; Contribute to academic governance and engage with industry and external stakeholders to enhance program quality and student experience.

Requirements

PhD in Psychology or a closely-aligned discipline.; Proven academic leadership experience consistent with Academic Level B/C or above.; Strong experience in higher education teaching, curriculum development, assessment, and quality assurance.; Sound knowledge of APAC accreditation, academic governance, and psychology education compliance requirements.; Demonstrated ability to lead academic staff, support student outcomes, engage stakeholders, and contribute to scholarly or research activity.; Registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, or eligibility for registration, is desirable.
