Meat Sales Associate

Meat department associate role at Weis Markets in Mount Pocono, PA, responsible for keeping meat cases stocked, serving customers, maintaining product freshness and quality, and following food safety, sanitation, and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

Keeps meat department cases well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand; Smiles and greets customers, makes suggestions, answers questions about cuts and preparation of products; Takes orders for future delivery and helps fill special requests; Helps resolve customer concerns in a prompt and courteous manner; Sets up displays and rotates product as needed; Ensures meat is fresh, in saleable condition with proper prices and signage; Handles and removes spoiled, damaged, or expired product per company procedures; May grind and cut certain meats and poultry; Weighs and wraps merchandise at customer request and applies price and weight stickers; Maintains logs to track freshness and quality; Adheres to food and personal safety codes; Maintains general sanitation in the department following cleaning schedules; Assists in minimizing shrink and controlling damages and reports shortages or overages to manager; May assist with receiving and storing deliveries and baling cardboard if properly trained; Cooperates with co-workers and superiors; Utilizes all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); May be asked to assist in other departments

Requirements

Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); No prior experience required
