Merchandise Associate- UM North University

Responsibilities

Provide an exciting, positive, and fun environment for the diverse team and fan base; Greet guests and ascertain their interest to make sales recommendations; Use POS systems with excellent accuracy; Demonstrate ownership in cleaning, re-stocking, and other tasks assigned by supervisor; Present merchandise to increase sales with add-on items; Describe merchandise features, benefits, and use; Keep current on promotions and sales in store, online, and at events for the M-Den; Maintain inventory, merchandise placement, and accurate counts; Assist in inventory; Continually increase knowledge of products, facilities, and events held at the University of Michigan; Read and implement plan-o-grams; Assist the set-up team with merchandising of event pop-ups including plan-o-grams, merchandise placement, inventory control, and cleaning of shops and fixtures; Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

Must be able to perform each essential duty at the highest level; Provide an exciting, positive, and fun environment for a diverse team and fan base; Greet guests and ascertain their interest to make sales recommendations; Excellent accuracy when using POS systems; Demonstrate ownership in cleaning, re-stocking, and other tasks assigned by supervisor; Present merchandise to increase sales with add-on items; Must be able to describe merchandise features, benefits, and explain use; Keep current on promotions and sales in store and at events at the M-Den; Maintain inventory, merchandise placement, and accurate counts; Assist in inventory; Continually increase knowledge of products, facilities, and all events held at the University of Michigan; Must be able to read and implement plan-o-grams; Assist the Gift Shop set-up team with merchandising of event gift shops including plan-o-grams, merchandise placement, inventory control, cleaning of shops and fixtures; Physical demands: sit, talk, hear, use hands to finger and handle controls, reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, stoop; Close vision and ability to adjust focus
