Nursery Teacher (QTS)

A specialist nursery school in Lambeth, part of a successful federation, are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Nursery Teacher to join their EYFS team from October 2026 to cover a maternity leave.

Responsibilities

Take on full class teaching responsibility within the Nursery setting; Plan and deliver engaging, creative and developmentally appropriate learning activities, both indoors and outdoors, in line with the EYFS curriculum; Observe and assess children’s progress; Maintain accurate records of development; Contribute to individual learning plans; Work closely with nursery practitioners and support staff to ensure every child is supported to reach their full potential; Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment; Build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues; Support children’s social, emotional and communication development

Requirements

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS); Have previous experience teaching within a Nursery or Reception setting; Have a strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development; Be confident planning and delivering engaging, play-based learning experiences; Have experience completing observations, assessments and tracking children’s progress; Be able to create a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating learning environment; Have excellent communication skills and be able to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues; Work effectively as part of an EYFS team, collaborating with nursery practitioners and support staff
