Positive Behaviour Support Assistant – Primary SEMH School

Are you passionate about helping children develop confidence, resilience, and positive behaviours? A specialist SEMH primary school in Haywards Heath is looking for a Positive Behaviour Support Assistant to work closely with pupils who need additional emotional and behavioural support to access learning and thrive in school.

Responsibilities

Supporting primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs throughout the school day; Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation; Building trusted relationships with pupils to help them feel safe and supported; Working alongside teachers to promote engagement in learning; Supporting social skills, confidence, and independence

Requirements

Must be a driver with access to a vehicle due to the school's rural location; Must have the right to work in the UK or hold a valid work visa; Provide suitable references for pre-employment checks; Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Children's Workforce (or Children's & Adults') Update Service, or be willing to obtain one

Nice to have

Experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND, autism, ADHD, or challenging behaviour; Calm, patient, and resilient with a positive outlook; Confident building strong relationships with young children; Passionate about making a lasting difference in children's lives
