Residential Electrician: $1,500 sign-on bonus

The Non-Certified Electrician will provide electrical expertise to lead the installation of residential solar systems and batteries to ensure conformance to existing national and local building codes. Depending on state requirements, the Non-Certified Electrician performs or assists in a variety of electrical work including main panel upgrades (MPUs), electrical troubleshooting and service work as well as commissioning. This position will also work with the PV installation crew, filling in and performing other duties when necessary, including leading the crew in the absence of the Foreman.

Responsibilities

Lead the installation of electrical systems that interconnect our solar array to the grid power of our customer's residential property; Ensure work performed is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codes; Safely plan and complete solar battery installations and MPUs as assigned; Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues; Work with branch team and homeowners to fulfill or assist in any necessary system upgrades/repairs; Work with local inspectors to satisfy local requirements and expectations; Demonstrate knowledge of OSHA standards related to photovoltaic installations and enforce safety practices; Additional duties assigned as needed; 5% travel required

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Must possess 75% of the hours required to sit for state specific electrical certification exams; Electrical installation and repair experience required, including experience with electrical work involving wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC; Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check; Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license; Certified electrical trainee preferred or required depending on state requirements; Working knowledge of current NEC codes; Ability to interpret single line drawings and PV systems from roof to meter; Knowledge of electrical principles as it pertains to solar interconnection/tie-in and code and PV systems; Understands interconnection activities; Understands basic construction principles; Adheres to company safety policies and procedures including ability to identify and report safety hazards and encourage others to work safely; Ability to establish rapport, build relationships and loyalty with external and internal customers; Proven ability to meet deadlines and key metrics; Ability to work independently and as a team player; Solid logical decision making and troubleshooting skills; Ability to transport materials and equipment up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance; Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces, confined spaces, and outdoor weather conditions; Ability to use hand functions, safety equipment, and distinguish colors and hear verbal commands
