SEND Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? We’re recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil at a welcoming specialist school in Godalming. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by helping one child access learning, build confidence and achieve their individual goals within a supportive educational environment.

Responsibilities

Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day; Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil’s individual needs; Encourage engagement, independence and positive behaviour; Work closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team; Foster a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

Must have the right to work in the UK or hold a valid work visa; Provide suitable references for pre-employment checks; Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Children’s Workforce (or Children’s & Adults’) Update Service, or be willing to obtain one; Patient, caring and resilient, with a positive attitude; Able to build strong relationships and communicate effectively; A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential; Must be a driver with access to a vehicle due to the school’s rural location

Experience supporting children or young people with SEND is desirable
