We're looking for an experienced Software Integration & Verification Engineer to join our team in Manchester , supporting the delivery of advanced defence and maritime systems. This role is ideal for engineers with an embedded software background who enjoy solving complex integration challenges, working with Linux-based environments, and ensuring software performs reliably within mission-critical systems.

You'll be involved in integrating, verifying and troubleshooting sophisticated software solutions, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver robust capabilities within a highly regulated engineering environment.

Responsibilities

Location: Manchester; On Site: 5 days per week; Clearance: Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain SC clearance.; Experience Level: 5+ years of relevant experience.; Carry out software integration, verification and validation activities across embedded systems; Deploy, configure and troubleshoot software within Linux-based environments; Develop and maintain Bash scripts to automate integration and testing activities; Work with containerised environments to deploy and manage software applications; Collaborate with Software, Systems and Test Engineers to ensure successful delivery; Support defect investigation, root cause analysis and issue resolution; Produce technical documentation and test evidence in line with project requirements

Requirements

Strong hands-on experience with Linux environments; Commercial experience with Bash scripting; Experience integrating and verifying software within an embedded systems environment; Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or relevant technical military background with equivalent experience.

Nice to have

Experience working within Defence, Maritime, Aerospace or other safety-critical industries; Knowledge of automated testing and verification techniques; Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and debugging techniques; Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI; Python scripting for automation or test activities
