Swim Instructor

Goldfish Swim School is Looking for FUN, ENERGETIC individuals who like to splash and play in the pool! We provide the training so no previous instructor experience is required. You just need to LOVE working with children and the water!! We are dedicated to developing our children into confident, life-long swimmers. Swim Instructors teach students ranging in ages 4 months - 12 years in a 90 degree pool.

Responsibilities

Promote a positive environment that fosters fun, safety, and learning; Treat every student fairly and equally regardless of circumstances and abilities; Arrive with ample time to report to position at the scheduled time; Be responsible and fulfill commitments to scheduled shifts; Ensure the safety of swim lesson students at all times; Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum; Evaluate students progress and complete required paperwork in a timely manner; Interact with parents/guardians on activities and development of students' swim skills; Use problem solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges students encounter; Inspect pool areas before and after each class for possible maintenance, cleanliness or damage issues; Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment; Place and remove lane lines; Perform light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal; Attend required/mandatory training, workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours; Assume other responsibilities as given by a supervisor; Willingness to cross train as needed

Requirements

Must have reliable transportation; Ability to work with children; Excellent communication and organizational skills; Time management skills; High energy; Strong work ethic; Available to work evenings and weekends; Comfortable being in the pool for 4-5 hours at a time; Comfortable getting hair and face wet in the pool; Comfortable with becoming lifeguard certified
