SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs? We are looking for caring, patient and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of additional needs within mainstream primary schools. These roles are ideal for experienced SEN professionals, recent graduates or individuals looking to begin a rewarding career in SEND. You will provide personalised 1:1 support to an individual pupil, helping them access learning, develop independence, build confidence and reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day; Helping pupils access learning and activities; Supporting communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour; Encouraging independence, confidence and social development; Supporting transitions and changes in routine; Adapting activities to meet individual needs; Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and families; Providing personal care support where required

Requirements

Caring; patient; dedicated; reliable; adaptable; genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs

Nice to have

Previous experience in SEND; education; care; youth work; psychology or similar environments
