Network Performance and Commercial Analyst

Our client is a well-established NZ transport operator going through a genuine period of growth, bringing with it an expanded performance reporting and KPI framework. This has created a newly established role to help the business meet its reporting obligations and drive commercial performance improvements at an active, high-visibility stage of its operations. This newly created role will validate performance data, challenge reporting discrepancies, and help lead KPI and contract compliance across multiple significant new contracts. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you’ll work closely with contracts, operations, and technology teams to reduce cost recoveries and drive continuous improvement in data quality and service delivery.

Responsibilities

Validate and reconcile operational performance data against external contractual reporting; Build strong working relationships with contracts, technology, and scheduling teams; Prepare and validate monthly contractual performance reports; Identify opportunities to reduce cost recoveries through improved data accuracy and operational performance; Translate complex data into clear, commercially sound recommendations across audiences up to Exec level; Lead resolution of real-time data discrepancies across internal and external teams; Partner with Operations Leaders to identify root causes of service performance issues

Requirements

Strong analytical background; Demonstrated experience translating data into commercial recommendations; Confident, resilient communicator comfortable with direct and sometimes difficult conversations; Ability to work cross-functionally across commercial, operations, and technology teams; Strong Excel and systems skills; Existing rights to work in New Zealand

Nice to have

Commercial/procurement, accounting, or finance analyst background; Experience interpreting KPIs, contracts, or performance frameworks; Tertiary qualification in business, finance, data analytics, or a related discipline
