Supply Chain Operations Specialist

We are seeking a New Supplier Introduction Specialist who will be responsible for the strategic identification, qualification, and onboarding of new suppliers to enhance our supply chain capabilities to procure new CNC machines. This role requires collaboration across multiple departments to ensure that supply chain metrics and quality standards are achieved. The successful candidate will manage the end-to-end process of supplier introduction, from initial assessment through to integration into our procurement system.

Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end process of supplier introduction, from initial assessment through to integration into the procurement system; Research and identify potential suppliers in alignment with company needs for CNC machines; Organize and conduct supplier audits to assess compliance with company standards; Facilitate the onboarding process for new suppliers, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements; Work closely with procurement, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure alignment on supplier expectations and integration.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field; Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in supplier management, procurement, or supply chain operations on CNC machines or any other machines related to heavy machine shop; Experience in CNC machine procurement, manufacturing processes, or a related field; Fair knowledge over NC programming; Working experience in machine shop; Strong knowledge of machinery operation, maintenance techniques, and production processes; Strong understanding of supplier evaluation methodologies and quality standards; Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Lafayette, IN or be willing to relocate to the area.
