3rd Shift General Maintenance Worker

Job Summary: The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair tasks across buildings, equipment, and facility systems. This role requires basic practical skills and a working knowledge of multiple trades, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. The position supports higher-level trades personnel and ensures facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance and minor repairs on building systems, equipment, and infrastructure; Replace and repair components such as light fixtures, switches, receptacles, belts, and small motors; Conduct minor patching and repair of walls and ceilings, including painting and surface touch-ups; Repair or replace plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, water coolers, and lavatory components (washers, seats, etc.); Install and replace carpet tiles and perform basic flooring repairs; Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as filter changes and general cleaning of equipment and work areas; Assist with mechanical and maintenance work, including the use of hand tools and basic equipment; Support laborer functions such as moving materials and maintaining clean and organized workspaces; Assist higher-level trades personnel with maintenance and repair tasks as needed; Follow safety procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements at all times; Perform other related maintenance duties as assigned by management

Requirements

Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems; Ability to use hand tools and basic maintenance equipment safely and effectively; Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision; Good communication and teamwork skills; Ability to lift, carry, and move materials (up to 50 lbs or more as required); Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing; May work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces; Exposure to varying temperatures and environmental conditions; Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
