Advanced Respiratory Therapy Student

The Advanced Respiratory Care Student shall be under the direction of a licensed Respiratory Therapist. This individual shall be responsible to provide respiratory care and services to patients. Duties and responsibilities are limited to those that fall under the scope of practice of unlicensed respiratory therapist acting under the direction of a licensed respiratory therapist, in order to ensure quality and continuity of patient care. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Requirements

Student status by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy and/or recent graduate with a temporary license from the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Care; BLS required; Temporary license if applicable; Good verbal communication skills in person and on the telephone; Ability to see within close and distant ranges and distinguish colors; Ability to sit for 20% of the workday and be mobile 80% of the workday; Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching; Frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action; Occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds; Continuous speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity; Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range
