Analyst - Healthcare

Guidepoint Insight is seeking an Analyst to support the expansion of research coverage of US and Europe start-up biotech, medtech, and healthcare services companies. The role plays a critical part in building and scaling the Guidepoint Library, a central resource offering transcript-based insights through teleconferences with KOLs and industry experts. Reporting directly to the Director of Research, the Analyst will develop deep research coverage, facilitate expert-led discussions, and ensure high-quality content creation, including topics such as scientific basis of platforms, competitiveness of products, industry landscape, regulatory decisions, product launches, and go-to-market strategies.

Responsibilities

Monitor a coverage universe of US and EU startup companies in biotech, pharma, medtech and services; Track key market and business drivers, including news flows, earnings releases, investor presentations, clinical trials, medical conferences, and product launches; Collect and organize clinical trial information and results, analyze mechanisms of action (MOA) of drug candidates, investigate clinical paradigms for disease treatment in China, and prepare reports; Create and moderate teleconferences featuring experts from Guidepoint's network, summarized in high-quality, detailed transcripts; Edit, summarize, and vet key discussion points of teleconference transcripts; Collaborate with the Director of Research to grow the content library and scale research coverage across multiple industries; Work with cross-functional teams to align research initiatives with business objectives and market demands; Ensure expert profiles and teleconference content adhere to compliance policies; Lead efforts to recruit and vet experts

Requirements

Master or Advanced degree in medicine, biological sciences, or equivalent academic/medical professional qualifications; 3+ years of experience in financial services or investment research covering the Biotech/Pharma sector (3+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech companies on competitive assessment, drug development, or business development will also be considered); Demonstrated ability to understand and analyze disease pathophysiology, biological rationale of therapeutic targets, clinical data, drug/medtech device labels, and competitive dynamics; Strong understanding of institutional buy-side/sell-side research and investing workflows; Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a strong sense of ownership; Excellent organizational and time-management skills; Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with professionals at all levels; Intellectual curiosity and a passion for learning about new industries and trends; Fluent in English, both written and verbal
