Cake Decorator

Bakery associate role at Weis Markets in Millsboro, DE, responsible for decorating cakes and bakery products, taking customer orders, maintaining the bakery sales area, and keeping the department clean and well stocked.

Responsibilities

Keeps bakery department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand; Takes customer orders over the phone or in person and determines size, flavor and appearance; Decorates cakes and other bakery products using dye, specific designs or custom designs; Makes icing for cakes and related products and adheres to company approved recipes; Trims and cuts cakes to required shape and size; Spreads icing between layers and on cake surface; Tints white icing to required colors; Assists in filling and merchandising the bakery sales area; Follows rotation and mark down policies; Helps maintain inventory levels with proper ordering and production logging; May assist with receiving and storing deliveries and baling cardboard if properly trained; Responsible for general sanitation of the department and compliance with health and OSHA requirements; Uses all company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); May be called upon to assist in other departments

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); 1-2 years' experience in decorating
