CMA/RMA Atrium Health One Health Reese Family Medicine FT

Full-time CMA/RMA position at One Health Reese Blvd Family Medicine in Huntersville, NC, working with an assigned provider on extended hours, including four 10-hour days with hours from 9:00am to 7:00pm.

Responsibilities

Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows all policies and procedures; Performs rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings; Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered; Performs lab duties such as venipuncture, specimen collection/labeling/packing, preparation of lab orders/requisitions, results tracking, and Point of Care testing per standing or provider order; Completes CLIA-waived laboratory tests and practice-specific diagnostic testing; Administers medications and vaccines safely; Performs other duties such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, safety/regulatory log completion, patient messaging, medication/supply ordering, appointment scheduling, and referrals; Cross trained to perform duties relevant to specialty or clinic practice; Demonstrates effective and timely communication, teamwork, and appropriate escalation; Maintains a clean work environment and ensures equipment and supplies are in working order and appropriately stocked; Provides age-appropriate patient care

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required; Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military clinical training per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT; Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required; Successful completion of Atrium Health's competency assessment; No experience required; Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within the Medical Assistant scope of practice after demonstrated competency; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, Windows navigation, email, and exposure to electronic medical records systems; Demonstrates customer service skills; Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday; Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance; Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with fine-hand manipulation skills
