Complex Childrens Care Assistant

As a Advantage Healthcare Care Assistant, you’ll deliver award winning care to support our clients in their own homes to maintain their independence, dignity and self-worth. Every day is different! Our paediatric client has a chronic lung condition and fitted with a tracheostomy and PEG. You will be supporting them during the school day with their nutritional needs, communication and ensuring their airway is safe and managed whilst eating and drinking, encouraging the client to eat and drink but when required giving them medication and fluids through their PEG. Our client needs support to participate in school life and this is an ideal role for someone looking for term time only role.

Responsibilities

Deliver award winning care to support clients in their own homes to maintain their independence, dignity and self-worth; Support paediatric client during the school day with nutritional needs and communication; Ensure airway is safe and managed whilst eating and drinking; Encourage client to eat and drink; Give medication and fluids through PEG when required; Support client to participate in school life

Requirements

Experience in Health and Social Care; experience of caring for a tracheostomy
