Data Scientist

Fixed-term contract opportunity with a global reinsurer for a talented data scientist. The role is a 3-year FTC combining data science techniques and actuarial analysis, with a focus on insurance relevant data, the in-force portfolio, and biometric and behavioural insurance risks. Hybrid working: 2 days per week office-based in London.

Responsibilities

Combine data science techniques and actuarial analysis to pre-process and analyse industry datasets; Support the maintenance of the firm's Experience Analysis tools; Research and analyse insurance relevant data; Conduct analysis of the in-force portfolio to identify trends and patterns; Contribute to the development of advanced statistical and predictive analytical techniques and models to enhance understanding of biometric and behavioural insurance risks; Support the development of the Central Bases and assumptions

Requirements

Knowledge of at least one scripting language (R or Python); Basic knowledge of SQL; Knowledge of data science and statistical techniques including GLM and tree-based models

Nice to have

PhD in a relevant field such as computer science, epidemiology, or statistics
