EVS Associate

As an EVS, Housekeeping Associate you will play a critical role in the health of our patients and team members. You will work as part of a close-knit team to ensure all areas of the facility are cleaned and sanitized. This position is per diem with no guaranteed hours, no set schedule nor benefits. EVS shifts are 6a-2:30p/10A-6:30p/2p-10:30p/5:00p-10:30p. Shifts will vary week to week as needed. This position performs all cleaning of patient rooms and/or assigned areas. Works as a member of the environmental service team to ensure the safety, health, and high morale of patients, visitors and staff by helping to provide a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment with minimal interference to others.

Responsibilities

Performs cleaning of patient rooms and/or assigned areas; Performs assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures; Plans the completion of cleaning tasks daily; Empties hampers and transports soiled linen; Empties trash containers and medical waste containers, including sharps; Inventories, restocks and replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels and hand soap; Maintains cleanliness of departmental equipment, notifies appropriate personnel of needed repairs, and logs equipment out and in; Performs special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removing heavily soiled items or furnishings; Responds to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors and meets or exceeds customer service satisfaction goals

Requirements

Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision; Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions; Ability to communicate effectively with others by phone and verbally; Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals; Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers; Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at time of hire and maintained for employment for employees working in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS, and for employees at Olive Branch Senior Center; Arizona Criminal History Affidavit signed upon hire for employees working in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children
