Journeyman Lineman - Evergreen, CO

Xcel Energy is seeking one or more Journeyman Lineman to be located in Evergreen, CO. Perform the duties of lineman classification involving overhead and underground electric distribution systems. The starting rate of pay for this position is $63.95 hourly. This position requires an online assessment and, if selected, the Xcel Energy Journeyman Lineman test conducted on-site.

Responsibilities

Perform the duties of lineman classification involving overhead and underground electric distribution systems; Respond to emergency callouts after normal work hours and on weekends; Complete online assessment and Xcel Energy Journeyman Lineman test if selected

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent; Valid Class A CDL driver's license including a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate; Completed a qualified apprenticeship program and possess a Journeyman Lineman certification; Willing to live within 40 minutes/40 miles of the Evergreen Service Center; Well-rounded knowledge of distribution primary feeder circuits, transformer loading and connections, and fusing practices; Should have experience with electric meter sets and their connections; Knowledge and experience in the use of hot line tools, protective devices, fuses, lightning arresters, disconnect switches, breakers, grounding sets, transformers and their connections; Experienced in the operation of Line Construction and Maintenance vehicles including forklifts, digger-derricks, platform digger units, wire and rope tensioning units, and similar equipment; Knowledge and experience in electric distribution system troubleshooting; Thoroughly familiar with Company Safety Rules and regulations and hazards of electric distribution field service work; Familiar with rubber gloves, sleeves, line hose, switching procedures, and PPE use in accordance with Company and OSHA requirements; Physical ability, endurance, and desire to perform potentially strenuous outdoor work at all times of day and night and under various weather conditions; Able to perform safe, proficient, and effective pole-climbing; Self-motivated, works well with others, positive attitude, committed to working safely and productively
