Med Tech - PC & MC - PA Certification Required - FT & PT

Responsible for the safe administration of all prescribed medications and treatments, providing personal care and general nursing care to residents, and ensuring delivery of care and services including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), room cleanliness, scheduled activities, and dining services.

Responsibilities

Safe administration of all prescribed medications and treatments as listed on the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and Treatment Administration Record (TAR); Supervision of self-administered medication for the Assisted Living Department; Count and sign for all narcotics before accepting medication keys; Order medications and treatments from the appropriate pharmacy and notify supervisors of low supply or discrepancies; Receive and verify medicines against pharmacy labels and MAR; Proper storage of medications; Date vials and bottles upon opening; Weekly inspections to remove expired medications; Verify and compare MARs at change over; Remove discontinued medication from med carts; Provide personal care (bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence care, eating); Provide general nursing care (vital signs, temperatures, blood pressure, weights); Document in the daily log and notify supervisor of concerns; Answer calls and assist residents as assigned; Daily cleaning and restocking of medicine carts; Weekly deep cleaning of med carts; Attend staff training and in-services; Prepare medical charts for new admissions and readmissions and complete records within forty-eight (48) hours

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; 1+ months of experience; Senior Living experience preferred; Current Medication Technician certification depending on state regulations; Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties and communicate with supervisors and employees; Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Superior time management skills; Strong team player with a passion for helping seniors
