Member of Technical Staff Intern - US

Dryft builds models that automate complex human decisions in manufacturing operations. We capture the knowledge of experienced operators across supply chain, production planning, engineering and more, simulate the consequences of their decisions, and use this understanding to help run their business. As a Member of Technical Staff Intern, you'll build the system that decides how some of the largest manufacturers in the world operate. That means combining agent-based reasoning with mathematical optimization and simulation on large-scale industrial data. Tech stack - FE (TypeScript): React, Chakra UI v3, TanStack Router, TanStack Query, Vite; BE (Python): FastAPI with Pydantic v2, Temporal, Postgres with pgvector, dagster; AI: Pydantic AI, Langfuse

Responsibilities

Build the routing, orchestration and guardrails for agents that run a factory's week; Ship features end-to-end across the LLM pipeline, infrastructure, backend and frontend, in production within your first weeks; Work close to the users by sitting with the planners who use the product and building features that make their work faster; Own your own features from day one

Requirements

Full-stack shipper: has shipped production code end-to-end, builds scalable backend and infrastructure for large amounts of structured and unstructured data, and builds usable interfaces; Highly technical: has built something technically hard and can explain every decision behind it; Product sense: identifies feature opportunities in user complaints and has removed their own favorite feature because nobody used it; Cares about getting it right: knows when something must be 100% correct and when to keep it simple, and chases root causes when it matters; Sense of urgency: prefers shipping the same night over leaving an open PR; Relocation: ready to work onsite in San Francisco (visa support provided)
