Mobile Truck Mechanic - Budget Truck - FT

If you take pride in quality repairs and want to work on a diverse fleet of newer cargo moving vans and box trucks across multiple brands, join the Avis Budget Group team supporting Budget Truck operations. In this role, your work helps ensure trucks are safe, reliable, and available—directly supporting customer businesses and keeping them moving.

Responsibilities

Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks with minimal technical supervision; Perform preventive maintenance, oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, electrical diagnostics, and warranty-related repairs based on skill level; Travel to the vehicle's location to diagnose and resolve problems when a truck or van experiences an issue; Drive Budget Trucks on public roads as part of repair or transport needs; Work on newer vehicles across multiple manufacturers, applying diesel and medium-duty expertise to reduce downtime, improve reliability, and support a positive customer experience

Requirements

Valid Driver's License Class A, B, or C; Minimum of 2 years of experience performing mechanical repairs and diagnostics on medium-duty or heavy-duty equipment; At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year; Working knowledge across ASE areas including, but not limited to: Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel; Must be able to obtain DOT medical clearance; Comfortable working outdoors and in a mechanical shop environment with moderate noise levels; Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive and diesel repair; Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry; Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive Budget Truck vehicles in all weather conditions; Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States; This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely
