Optometrist

Asda Opticians is seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join its team in Crewe, delivering high quality patient care and service. The role involves completing eye examinations, contact lens and extended service examinations, working alongside the Dispensing Optician Manager to support colleagues with training, coaching and departmental standards. The store supports extended NHS service contracts for the treatment and monitoring of eye conditions, with support for gaining additional accreditations and access to a CPD programme and protected time for accreditations. Working pattern: Monday, Friday and Saturday, 09:00 - 17:30, 24 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Complete eye examinations; Complete contact lens and extended service examinations; Support colleagues with training and coaching; Maintain departmental standards alongside the Dispensing Optician Manager; Deliver care for the treatment and monitoring of eye conditions under NHS extended service contracts

Requirements

Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC; Registered performer with NHS area team or health board; MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda); On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD; Right to work in the UK; Evidence of being on the NHS performer list for the nation you wish to work in; Two clinical references; If applying in Wales, evidence of WECS accreditation and WGOS module accreditation
