Personal Assistant to support a woman in the Kirkstall area

PA to support a woman in the Kirkstall area for 25 hours per week at £12.60 per hour. I am in my forties & live my husband & 2 daughters. I am looking to recruit a bright & bubbly female PA with a good sense of humour who is good around children. I like to talk and engage with people, & I am paralysed from the waist down and use a wheelchair. I experience chronic pain & fatigue due to my health conditions, & it is important my PA has an understanding of mental health, including depression & anxiety, as some days are more intense than others for me, & my PA needs to be aware & reactive to my needs in order to best support me. My PA needs to be able to cook, & I am lactose intolerant. I like my independence, & it is very important that my independence is maintained. I like to get involved in things, & the PA role is about supporting & assisting me, rather than doing things for me.

Responsibilities

General household tasks including laundry, mopping, hoovering, changing beds, ironing and other standard household tasks; Support with meal preparation; Assist and accompany with socialising and accessing the local community; Assist with personal cares if needed; Have understanding and awareness of mental health and anxiety; Encourage medication taking; Accompany to GP and hospital appointments; Any other reasonable requests

Requirements

Female PA; bright and bubbly; good sense of humour; good around children; understanding of mental health including depression and anxiety; able to cook; must respect independence and ask rather than assume; enhanced DBS check; proof of right to work in the UK; strict confidentiality
