Principal Cloud Engineer with Java

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Cloud Engineer with a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native architecture. This role is critical in driving the design, development, and scalability of cloud-based platforms, with a focus on Kubernetes-driven environments.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and architecture of scalable, high-performance cloud-native applications; Develop and maintain microservices using Java and Spring Boot; Drive system design decisions, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance; Architect and manage Kubernetes-based deployments across cloud environments; Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Argo CD and Helm; Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and secure cloud solutions; Optimize application performance, cost efficiency, and operational reliability; Mentor and guide engineering teams on best practices in cloud architecture and development; Ensure adherence to DevOps, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code principles

Requirements

10+ years of overall software engineering experience; Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot development; Proven experience in designing and building distributed systems and microservices architectures; Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (mandatory) in production environments; Strong working knowledge of Helm and Argo CD (mandatory); Deep experience in at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP; Strong understanding of cloud-native patterns, scalability, and resilience design; Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks; Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; Strong collaboration and communication skills; Proven ability to work effectively as a team player in a fast-paced environment; Ownership mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes; Ability to influence technical direction and drive innovation

Nice to have

Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments; Familiarity with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio); Exposure to observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.); Experience in high-scale enterprise environments
