Our client is a Scandinavian company from the pharmaceutical sector, currently expanding its IT department in Warsaw. We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer who will play a key role in the organization’s ongoing transformation process.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
•Participate in the design and development of a new cloud-based data platform in Azure.
•Build and maintain modern data pipelines using Azure native services and Databricks (where relevant).
•Support and optimize the existing legacy Data Platform (SQL Server based) during the transition period.
•Handle incidents and operational issues across both legacy and cloud environments.
•Optimize daily operations and ensure high reliability of data flows.
•Participate in planning and implementing changes to existing solutions as part of the migration strategy.
•Participate in delivery of new projects on the new platform as well as enhancements to current applications.
•Collaborate closely with Business stakeholders to discuss requirements and propose improvements.
•Suggest enhancements to existing processes and data flows, ensuring compliance with GxP.
•Document all development work in alignment with GxP/GAMP5 and internal quality standards.
Professional Competencies:
•Strong SQL/T-SQL skills and solid understanding of relational data structures.
•Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, Azure SQL/SQL MI, Azure Functions, Azure DevOps).
•Experience with data engineering frameworks and tools, ideally including Databricks / PySpark (strong advantage).
•Good programming skills in Python or similar languages used for cloud-based data pipelines.
•Experience with modern ETL/ELT processes, orchestration patterns, and API-based integrations.
•Familiarity with DevOps practices, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments.
•Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, GxP).
•Analytical mindset with strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross functional, international teams.
•Good communication skills to translate technical topics to non technical stakeholders.
•Nice to have: Knowledge of SSIS, C#, VBA - helpful for understanding and maintaining legacy solutions during migration
•Nice to have: Competence or experience in building machine learning models
