For our client, a leading financial services organization developing modern digital banking solutions for corporate customers, we are currently looking for Candidates for the position of:

Senior Java Developer

Work mode: Hybrid (3 days per week from the office in Gdańsk, Gdynia, or Warsaw)
Contract type: B2B Start Date: ASAP
Cooperation: Initial 6-month contract with a very high probability of extension
Language: English - B2/C1

Project Overview

Join a large-scale digital transformation initiative focused on building a next-generation corporate banking platform. The project aims to replace a legacy online banking system with a modern digital channel serving corporate clients and providing advanced financial management capabilities.
As a Senior Java Developer, you will become part of an Agile development team responsible for delivering innovative solutions that improve user experience and streamline banking operations. You will contribute to the development of APIs and backend services supporting key functionalities such as payments, financial overview, liquidity management, and user administration.
The environment combines both microservice and monolithic architectures and follows Domain-Driven Design (DDD), port-adapter architecture, and reactive programming principles. Some services are integrated with Angular-based frontend applications.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs

• Participate in the modernization of a large-scale corporate banking platform

• Build resilient, scalable, and high-quality software solutions

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional Agile teams

• Contribute to architectural and technical design discussions

• Ensure code quality through best engineering practices and testing

• Support the evolution of both microservice-based and monolithic applications

• Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

Key Requirements:

• Higher education degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)

• At least 6 years of hands-on experience in Java development

• Strong experience with reactive programming

• Practical knowledge of Spring Framework and Hibernate

• Experience working with the Cucumber testing framework

• Good knowledge of SQL, REST APIs, Microservices, and Git

• Understanding of SOLID principles and design patterns

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken)
  
  

Nice to have:

• Experience working in the banking or financial services sector

• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD)

• Knowledge of port-adapter architecture

• Basic frontend experience, particularly with Angular

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
