Role Overview
The International DBA Team, part of the Oracle Database organization, is responsible for ensuring high performance, availability, and reliability of database environments across the international region. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will deliver robust and scalable Oracle database solutions, support distributed service architectures, and collaborate with global engineering teams to define and implement enterprise-wide database standards.
The main task in this position is:
- Perform database and application (SQL) performance tuning
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain Oracle database instances
- Conduct root cause analysis for production database issues
- Execute daily database maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
- Provide internal customer and development team support Review, design, and develop data models in collaboration with application development teams
- Test, validate, and implement performance and resource optimization solutions
- Convert logical data models into physical database designs
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience
- 4 years of Oracle DBA experience on Unix/Linux environments, including:
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on database administration
- At least 1 year of hands-on database development projects
- Strong knowledge of Oracle database technologies, tools, and development
- Proven ability to work effectively with Development Engineering and cross-functional teams
- Fluent written and spoken English
Preferred Qualifications:
- High motivation and ability to solve problems efficiently
- Strong troubleshooting and rapid resolution skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
- Proven capability to build and maintain strong working relationships with DBA and application teams
- Experience with: High-volume OLTP database systems, Terabyte-scale databases, Oracle Data Guard replication solutions
- Solid understanding of Oracle DBA best practices, including: Schema management, Index optimization, Effective use of optimizer hints
- Advanced query optimization and database tuning skills
